About the Península de Maraú Guide

The Península de Maraú Guide (peninsulademarauguide.com) is an independent, free travel guide to the Maraú Peninsula, on the southern coast of Bahia, Brazil. Its aim is to help visitors plan better: when to go, how the tide changes the itinerary, how many days to stay, where to stay, which trips to take and how to reach the peninsula.

What the guide is

• Independent. We are not the destination’s official website and we do not represent the Maraú City Hall, INEMA, the Brazilian Navy, the Bahia State Government, local associations or any public body or company.
• Source-based. Every page shows when it was updated and where the information comes from. We prefer primary sources, such as the Maraú City Hall, INEMA, the Brazilian Navy, the Bahia State Government, IBGE and the official websites of attractions.
• Cautious. When we cannot confirm a piece of information, we do not publish it, or we warn that it needs to be checked. We do not publish times or prices without a source and a date.
• Multilingual. The content is written in Portuguese and adapted, step by step, into English, Spanish and other languages.

What the guide is not

• It is not a travel agency: we do not sell tours, tickets, transfers or accommodation.
• We do not publish paid reviews. Sponsorship, when it exists, is labeled and does not change the editorial text.
• We do not write personal travel accounts: the content is editorial and informative.

Business directory

The business directory only lists businesses when there is a verifiable public source and does not show phone or WhatsApp numbers. Local businesses can submit their listing for free.
