Campinho is a small village on Camamu Bay. Wikivoyage describes it as one of the best places in the region for diving, with calm, clear water and rich underwater life.
The Saint-Exupéry story
According to Wikivoyage, Campinho is known for the house where the writer and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, author of The Little Prince, is said to have stayed in the 1930s. It is a local tradition: we found no official document confirming the stay, so we treat it as a story told in the region.
How to visit
Campinho is usually included in boat trips around the bay. For scuba diving, look for an accredited operator and check the conditions on the day.
Practical tips
- Bring a snorkel mask for the calm water.
