Cassange beach is on the Atlantic coast of the Maraú Peninsula and appears on the English Wikipedia’s list of the municipality’s beaches. What makes it special is its neighbor: right behind the sand lies Cassange Lagoon.
What to expect
- Wide sand, coconut palms and few buildings.
- Open sea, with waves on many days. Watch before going in.
- Limited facilities: bring water and sunscreen.
Getting there
Access is via the peninsula’s dirt and sand roads. Visitors staying in Barra Grande usually go by transfer, quad bike or 4x4. Check conditions with your accommodation, because the road changes with the rain.
Practical tips
- Watch the sea before going in: it is open sea.
- Combine it with Cassange Lagoon on the same outing.
